Music Might Just Make My Life...

The more I look at it, I see that music is the one thing I can always count on. My music is always there for me and is ever-changing. I may find something new every now and then, and it's for the better. It started last night as I was laying in my bed not asleep. All I could think about was something that I read on Alex Dean's Blog (( alexmdean.blogspot.com )). It said this.

"For the past 4 years or so, I have been touring all over the country playing music. Now, as I stand at the crossroads of starting my "adult" life, I am told that I need to make money, save for retirement, buy a house, finish first, take what I can get when I can get it, etc. However, the life that has made me the most happy thus far is much simpler. Living in a van and driving to a new town every day is what has truly made me happy."

This changed my outlook on a lot of things. I've had plans to go do something I didn't want to do in college, just for the money. I read that and began to reevaluate what I wanted to do with my life. I'm 18 years old, I don't know what I want to be when I'm 40 years old. Doctor? No. Game designer? Sure it may be fun, but could also get old. So I began to think into music. Honestly, that description of the time when he was happiest in his life.. when he was living in a van driving to a new place everyday.. a lot of people are more worried about the money aspect of things, which is important, but if you hate what you are doing everyday... you wont last long. The one thing that has always truly made me happy is my music. Playing it. Tinkering with it. Listening to other people and envying them, famous or not.. it's their dream, and they are living it out. THAT excites me.

So that being said, I think that listening to Thirty Seconds To Mars' new album This Is War has put me into a better mood along with playing with my band. There is just something so calming about the music you love. It wont leave you. Run away. It will always be there waiting for you to listen to it. To all of you artists out there. I thank you for putting the work into what you do. It means a lot to me as a musician and as a person. Music can affect lives. No... it WILL affect lives. Have a nice day world.

Yours Truly.
